If you don’t have a Twitter account, go to twitter.com to set one up. The only way to get comfortable using twitter is to start using it. You are free to setup an account you will only use with this class if you are uncomfortable with using your regular account.
@soc334 is the twitter account that I will be using to send reminders, make announcements, share links, and provide clues for scavenger hunts throughout the semester. You can respond to my tweets and also retweet them. The hashtag for the course is #technologyandsociety. Adding hashtag(s) to your tweet allows you to connect with others and start a conversation. Make sure to click on “Follow soc334” button under the tweet updates so that you are notified when I tweet. There are several twitter clients for your smartphone and computers. I’ve used both the official Twitter apps and Tweetdeck in the past without issue. You can also always just use the twitter website. Whatever option you choose, make sure you check the feed regularly so you don’t miss anything.
